Specializations

Some of life’s most profound experiences are found at the very beginning and the very end- birth, and death, and the love that connects them. My specializations may appear as different, but to me, they are deeply connected. They are about love, loss, hope, uncertainty, and the profound transitions that shape us as people.

I specialize in supporting individuals and couples navigating infertility, miscarriage, infant and child loss, and grief as a whole. Much of my work has been shaped by professional experience on both ends of the life continuum. My background as a labor support doula and social worker in hospice have allowed me to sit alongside people during some of life’s most tender and vulnerable moments. I have accompanied people desperately hoping for a child, mourning the loss of a pregnancy or child, facing the reality of a loved one’s life coming to an end, and helping people learn to live again after someone they love is gone. I have witnessed the anticipation and hope surrounding birth, as well as the heartbreak and love that accompany loss. These experiences have taught me there is no easy way through the moments that change us most.

I know all of my specialties, personally. My own experiences in these areas have shaped me deeply and given me a more intimate understanding of the complexities of each. They have deepened my empathy in my work as a therapist and reinforced for me how essential it is to have a place where feelings can be voiced openly, without judgement or expectations about how someone “should” feel or process an experience. They inform, but do not define the way I work with people. Each person is unique and so are their experiences and journeys.

Whether you are grieving a baby or child, navigating the uncertainty of infertility, heartbreak of miscarriage, facing the death of someone you love, or simply trying to find your way through a life altering loss of any kind, I offer you a steady and safe space to make sense of what may feel like a senseless experience, move forward in a way that honors what- and/or whom- you have lost, and integrate this loss into the fabric of your being.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and grounded. There is no right way to grieve or timeline for healing. I will walk alongside you- to make space for unbearable hurts, to honor what has been lost, and to help you find a way to carry your experience with greater understanding and care moving forward.
